Lever.io adopts crypto payments via Loop to power web3 marketing

Working with teams deeply embedded within the web3 ecosystem, Lever knew it was critical to launch payment functionality that would allow its customers to transact in crypto across numerous chains. They turned to Loop Crypto because of its flexibility to support a range of payment types and its robust API. This allowed them to create a custom checkout experience tailored to their site.
Introducing Lever’s web3 KOL marketplace
Co-founded by Art Malkov (ex-CMO of Polymarket, Iotex, ZIlliqa), Lever officially launched its beta in July 2024. It operates a two-sided marketplace bringing together brands and creators. Think of Lever as the Upwork for web3 influencer marketing.
For Web3 brands and startups
Lever solves the tedious problem of trying to identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) that are relevant to their projects. Using Lever, it is easy to run a precise search to locate creators that will be most relevant to speak about a brand and its values.
For example, someone may be launching a new DeFi project on the Arbitrum blockchain and need someone who can speak with credibility on the topic and understands the nuances of the Arbitrum ecosystem. Lever helps pinpoint creators matching set criteria and then facilitates an engagement with influencers to produce content.
With Lever, there is no complex negotiating or haggling back and forth. Lever streamlines the entire process enabling brands to pay for specific requested services from a predefined menu of options.
For Web3 Creators, KOLs, and Influencers

Within the platform, brands submit requests for services like YouTube videos or tweets, which creators can then accept and provide deliverables within a set amount of time. Once work is completed and approved by the brand, Lever ensures payment is delivered securely and on time to the creator.
How Lever implemented Loop
Lever operates a global business catering to a web3 audience. As such, it was critical from the outset that they enable crypto payments within their platform. They wanted to ensure that the experience of making a payment on the platform was seamless, so they used Loop’s APIs and checkout widget to design a bespoke payment flow that allows brands to fund and make payouts for content requests.
For web3 projects using Lever, the ability to make payments in crypto is a significant value add. Many of these projects raise funds in crypto or manage an on-chain treasury. Being able to pay in crypto for services like Lever removes operational burdens for them and eliminates costly fees from off-ramping funds to make payments.
On the creator's side, there are similar benefits. KOLs are spread around the globe and often face costly exchange rates and conversion fees when handling fiat payments, which is an unnecessary increase in their operating costs when there are payment solutions like Loop.
Payment in crypto also allows KOLs to avoid high credit card transaction fees. Additionally, using Lever along with Loop’s payments infrastructure ultimately ensures both sides have a source of truth for all payment history that can be referenced whenever needed.
As Lever was assessing crypto payment options, a key feature that Loop offered was the ability to check out for one or multiple items. In the image shown below, you can see that brands have the ability to select a range of content options that they might want a KOL to provide.
Based on this selection, Lever seamlessly passes the items to the Loop checkout cart to then charge the customer the appropriate amount. Loop’s flexible architecture ensures that Lever can configure its pricing options and services in a way that best fit the needs of brands and creators.
Lever currently supports payments via stablecoins (USDC and USDT) across BNB Smart Chain, Base, Polygon, and Arbitrum. With crypto payment support, brands are able to fund content requests instantly, which allows KOLs to get to work right away.
